... for Salzburg was professional, friendly, and knowledgeable. Salzburg is a beautiful city, & the home of The Sound of Music, and also the birthplace of Mozart. After the official tour we wandered the streets and alleys, for several hours, then headed back to the station where we saw a group of Syrian refugees, including a mother and baby, in police custody - very confronting.

... do have a small medieval area of town and a town square. They have a museum of modern art (not my thing) that has a nice, big glass building.

We had a late brunch on the ship and then headed to Salzburg by bus. On the way up we made a stop in Mondsee, which is a town on a lake. We were up and about at 8am this morning for breakfast. We had all planned on leaving around 10 to get to the lake but by the time we had all sorted out bikes it was closer to 1030. 11 of us left for the ride. The trip we were told takes 60-90 minutes each way but is mostly flat with the occasional hill but nothing too strenuous.

(Cycled 47 km) We pulled back the cabin curtains to find grey skies and light rain. The bikes were being unpacked at 7 pm so Tony was down with his bike lock, on the dockside, to check that the tandem was secure but it was not a problem as the tandem had been put behind the man distributing all the hire bikes.
