... so we sought out shelter down in the common room. While chatting with one of the guy, I saw an older Indian man sitting by himself eating his noodles. I asked him to join us and he was so happy I'd asked, he served up a bowl for everyone. It turns out he was passing through on business and was a really nice guy, so interested in our story's and kept taking photos with us all saying, his family would not believe it. Train ride from Prague to Budapest, 7 hours, 2nd Class

So, I actually didn't miss the train. I have a reserved seat. Seat 45 in wagon 258. The wagons were not numbered as per the tickets so you had to rely on a ticket interpreter to tell you which wagon.

... prepare for our first full day in Prague.

Monday started overcast and with light showers. We had arranged 2 half day walking tours of Prague and at 9.00, Gabriela, our lovely guide, arrived. The area we are staying in is called Hradcany and was the original town site dominated by the Strahov Monastery and the original city wall. We walked to the still operating monastery dating back to 1140 to view the libraries, the statue of St John, ...

... and pastel buildings from the 13th century in this part of town. I loved walking around the town; there is no other way to describe Prague other than how it cute it is. As we were walking around, we stopped to get some hot wine because everyone said that we had to try it. It was actually pretty good; it wasn’t too sweet like some people said. We also got this soft pretzel (shaped as an open cylinder) with cinnamon sugar on ...
