        ... the involvement of the Australia and New Zealand Army Corps (ANZAC) in Gallipoli. In 1915 (ish), Australia was a newly-minted independent nation and wanted to support England in its desire to hold Gallipoli as a strategic sea base during WWI. Unfortunately, the Ottoman Empire prevailed and ANZAC was slaughtered. There's actually a good movie about this with Russell Crowe called The Water Diviner...but I digress...         ... as robins back home. Over the next week we would see plenty of other tropical birds including the sulphur crested cockatoo, best remembered as the villain in the movie Rio. Bondi beach was as amazing as expected but on our first day it was missing heat and steady sunshine.         ... Quay as they actually take you underneath the Sydney Harbour Bridge. It was really easy getting to the zoo, although once you are there you get a cable car up to it! I wasn't happy (sorry Nads and mum) but it was really fun and not the steep or anything like that. The zoo itself had spectacular views of the harbour and you could see the bridge and opera house. The animals were amazing and the zoo felt like more of a park. It definitely needed a whole day though as it ...
