The history of Pompeii is fascinating....to think that the entire town came to a stop in minutes as the ash fell and folks were stopped in their tracks as they suffocated from the ash.
The homes and artifacts are in perfect condition and you get a real sense of the citizens of Pompeii and the life they led.

We were beat so we headed back to meet our driver. Guiseppi ...

Needless to say we left satisfied with our efforts. Back at the hostel that night we discussed our experience of Pompeii with the room mates only to discover, in true Michaela and Kathryn style, that we had actually not found the main display and had missed 13 of the most famous body moulds.... We covered Sorrento, Pompeii, Positano, Amalfi, Praiano, and Ravello. We went to the side of this mountain-top and hiked up steps for a lunch that you couldn't duplicate.

All you need to do is check the pictures...and amazing day!

    Tomorrow...outskirts of Rome!
