... we had to eat here! The champ himself was on hand to accept accolades, show off his trophy and have his photo taken. The pizzas were pretty good too. 5 September A bit of a loose end today. We had to check out at 10am and the ferry didn't sail until after 8pm. Walked around the waterfront. Watched the fishing boats come in and sell/clean their catch. The kids (well all of us, really) loved watching the octopus escape from the basins. Mind you, we didn't realise ...

Naples is definitely a city which grows on you as the longer I spent there the more I liked it. There is so much to do there and lots of food to try, it was impossible to do it all! Last day in Sorrento. Thunder, lightening and rain, just like our last day in Florence. Organizing our luggage and prepping for our trip to Rome tomorrow. We never did get to use our pool here. We are hunkered down in our room ...

... off to the old quarter into the pedestrian only precinct (though it appears that some of Naples didn't receive that memo) and finally found some restaurants and settled down for pizza.

The walk home let us see Naples after sunset (wouldn't want to walk it by myself) and Thomas jabbered non stop all the way home (and I can hear my mother saying just like me when I was that age!).

Tomorrow we plan to spend the day in Naples.

... sheer joy of it. Not a great first impression.

Marta and I traveled along the streets and finally reached the museum. I really enjoyed walking through the museum. It is home to the most amazing collection of frescoes and statues from Pompeii and Herculaneum which are extremely well preserved. Besides that, the architecture of the building is fascinating. The museum made the trip worth it.

After leaving the museum, we wandered through the ...
