... church complex.....and then Santi Apostoli.....and....well 14 churches in all! The was a church over another one, with lots of damp and bones; a church with Roman baths; a church with little pyramids covering its external wall; ornate baroque churches; simple Gothic churches; churches with beggars outside; a church with steps that looked as though they were never used there was so much moss on them; but possibly the best church was the one with incredible cloisters with frescoes ...

We rushed back to the ship to arrive before it left the dock. Glad to be back "home." We did our usual routine, dinner & show before I headed back to my bunk bed to read & write. Much along the lines of Petra and Macchu Pichu, in an amazingly preserved city kind of way, but this one was more preserved, right down to bodies and skeletons, and campaign slogans written on houses by Romans running for office. (Note, the citzens had days of warning, but some stayed to protect their ****.) And, the ...

... for the entire 2 hours I was there...

It's time to leave and I catch the (wrong) bus to Capri, but end up in Anacapri, high on the island...hopping off I do wish I'd spent some time up here, but alas it wasn't to be (not this trip anyway). So I catch a taxi back to the ferry and back to Positano. There I stop and buy postcards to write to Jamie, Issy, George and Frankie, as they'll love getting mail addressed to them (I know I did as a kid as it made me feel ...
