It is a few Kms past Tropea and not like the one closely named the same in California. In fact we are within sight of the sea, within meters of the railway line and within fewer meters of 6 goats and a rooster who thought it was morning about 5:30 when we arrived. The aunts and cousins were thrilled to see them and couldn't stop saying how beautiful Meg is and how Iain seems to be a sweet soul (apparently my cousin could tell this from Iain's eyes). We ate at La GIoiosa where we have been staying, under the stars and with the view of Cleto ...

... and dancing. Even my aunts got into the spirit and joined the conga line and were constantly being dragged in to dance. Truth be told, I think they loved it!! The wonderful thing here is that families attend these things, so you have children dancing with their siblings, their cousins, parents and grandparents. It was wonderful to watch and be part of. A young man I didn't even know dragged me into a conga line!! My cousin Antonio was in his glory. I don't know how many ...

... and a bread made with "lievito madre". This literally means yeast of the mother and is yeast that has been continuously cultivated and renewed for over 100 years. They were given some 6 years ago when the restaurant opened and they add to it every day to keep it active. If the person that does this is on holidays, someone else is entrusted to take their place. What a concept.
The drive back was interesting as Rob has never driven these highways at night time. As ...
