We were the second to arrive so we paid at the gates and walked straight to the bar to ...

Our home for the night was Gradina Bay in Korcula, where all ...

... we had two types of delicious local olive oil and bread, vegetable soup and grilled vegetables for K and fabulous tuna steak for me. We accompanied that with a bottle of Grk, a wine made from a grape that grows only on the island of Korcula near the town of Lombarda. It was a slightly dry white and it was great with my fish. We finished with a chocolate lava cake drizzled with caramel and ice cream. Feeling guilty at finishing our meal with a non-Croatian item, we ...

... brick road although this time I was looking for sand! We decided as long as we were heading towards the sea we were onto a winner! As we reached sea level we were greeted by a shallow stretch of sand, a couple of cafes and some sun loungers for rent. A complete contrast to Split which was surprising as Lumbrada is billed as Korcula’s main beach. You can rent sun loungers/umbrellas for 20 kunas each, a lot cheaper than Split.

      We spent ...
