Stranded in St Moritz

Tomorrow the weather is suppose to be good and so I plan to head eastwards into Italy and the Dolomites. I only hope there is no more snow on the way but only time will tell.

Sunshine and snow in the Alps
... over the pass and soon the place is a complete white out!! The wind is getting up and the temp has again dropped to 2.2 Celsius. The road simply just appears wet but on close inspection there is quite a bit of ice laying on the surface also making it extremely slippery for a motorcycle.
With conditions like this I simply just take my time and keep the speed right down to between 30 and 40mph.

What a journey
Left castelrotto bus to Bolzano, showery only so good for travel. Bolzano by train to merano then train to mals. This was a 2carriage train massive windows even bigger than normal regional trains. Beautiful country looking at forts, castles, snow, alps. Then postal bus from mals to zermez Switzerland. It is known for travelling through 3countries over high mountains then into valley. Back to Stelvio pass we wind
... due to his mistrust of Hitler! The pass was lovely but was not worth the 24 Euro we had to pay to get over it!!!
We reached the bottom of Stelvio pass at 5.30pm and were standing on top just before 6pm – I had made it with no dramas! The ride was great, 48hairpins and some spectacular views.
