... and it was kind of like eating hand cream (the taste, not the texture). I had to clear my palate with a chocolate petit four. I had the chance to talk for a while to Mark, Carl and Peggy; Marcella, John and Peggy tried to convince me that my next tour needs to be to Croatia.
Afterward, a group of about ten of us decided to walk around the promenade that surrounds the Old Town. Sunset started 15 minutes or so into the walk, and it got dark ...
... We went for a walk around the neighborhood and to the town gates. Old Town Nesebar (where we are) sits on a small peninsula that is connected to the new town by a man-made isthmus. It takes 20 minutes to walk from the gates to the other end of the peninsula, so it's pretty much impossible to get lost (but watch me manage it tomorrow). Stefan pointed out some good restaurants, showed us a church we'll be visiting tomorrow, and warned us against changing money ...
... again the apron widened to accommodate 12 lanes. What they didn’t indicate was there were fewer booths. As luck would have it we were in a ‘boothless’ lane. A riot almost ensued as vehicles from our lane filtered into the adjacent one. We were so impressed with a mature Turkish man who was returning to The Netherlands. There was young chap, clearly spoiling for a fight and the older one tolerated it for a while and then firmly told ...
... around and then... I slapped something. Definitely felt like a fish. A BIG fish. Manta ray was the first thing that came to my mind (don't laugh!). Without a hesitation, I started swimming back to the beach, freaking out a little. David was laughing his ass off at me- until he slapped the thing too.
I managed to calm down by then and we looked at the thing. It was so much worse then a fish. It was a freakin' huge, ...
... with beautiful frescoes. Churches dated from the 13-14th century. Then we were on our own to shop! We had a nice lunch overlooking the harbor. Tonite is our group happy hour. Tomorrow we are on the road again to another town on the Black Sea-Varna. ...
