Day 171: cupcakes!!

... impressive hotel. Each room is self contained, so has a bathroom and kitchen and bedroom, usually with a desk or home office, plates, cooking equipment and a couch. The furniture is so beautiful, all antiques. And the walls of the apartment are painted in a really modern fashion, with bright feature walls, big modern artworks and random placing of furniture. One room which really struck me was on the 2nd floor. As you open the door, there is a big open space and right in the ...

DAY 1: "Ich bin eine Berliner!"

... no, I didn't do a dance with lederhosen and get into a bar fight (reference from film "Eurpoean Vacation" for those of you who don't know). I tasted "Apfelkücherl" (or "Apfelringe" - fried & battered apple rings) with cinnamon sugar. Yum! No beer yet, because I was trying not to fall asleep too early.

It was a little bit ...

A travel blog entry by peteandvera

Onto the Stasi Museum - Gestapo and SS HeadQuarters where files etc were kept on Jews and suspect minority groups by the Nazi's. Caught the bus back to central Berlin, stopping off at a beautiful cathedral on our walk back to our hotel. Out to tea at a local hotel and were even able to sit outside in the late pm ...
