    ... again into the now-sunny city to visit Checkpoint Charlie and its museum. We were disappointed to find that it was a crass and tacky affair with guys dressed as American soldiers posing for the cameras and holding giant American flags. Even more offensive in my opinion were the stands selling hammer and sickle flags, fluffy Russian hats, gas masks and Russian army caps.     ... why we didn't want the car in Berlin! There was nooooo chance of parking immediately around the hotel (hmmm they made it sound easy on so we drove a couple of hundred metres around the corner and were very lucky to find a spot on the road that unbeknown to us still came within the hotel parking area (zone 7?).     ... and followed the recommended instructions of only eating a half pretty much had no affect on me other than when we got back to the apartment I fell asleep on the couch for a couple of hours.

    We went to a great jazz club on the last night which had a nine piece band and room for about 30 patrons - basically drank scotch and enjoyed the music for a couple of hours.
