So I haven't actually flown out yet, but I'm planning to.. In 9 hours. I just wanted to get my fans pumped up to read more about my adventures.
It's snowing a lot outside (in GFPK). I foresee a nice 1.5 hour bus ride from downtown Montreal to PET airport.
There is a mighty river flowing from a great inland sea. Half way down the river is an isle with a mountain in the middle. Around the mountain is a city. First people called it Ville Marie. We called it Montreal in Middle French
In the center of the city is a plaza where Iroquois defended themselves against whites. Now the place is taken by a bank. Both sides lost.
Around the plaza were the cobblestone streets with the stores closed ...

... alone, in the middle of the night because a) Keith had no motorcycle licence b)It's faster for me to drive by myself and c) We had to leave early in the morning I was sooooo tired, I wanted to cry. But I went anyway, I rode the motorcycle halfway back downtown and the pizza place was closed! I memorized the number and figured I'd probably have to abandon Keith, sans glasses in a strange city, at least for the rest of Monday.
Montreal, Quebec, Canada travellingjon... when we got to the top, we chilled out for a while, you know, taking in the whole view and stuff. Veronica was on the phone for a while to her peeps in Newark, checking in on her son, who had just come back from a trip to the Grand Canyon. We were informed that it snowed there, but he still had fun. After that, I kind of forget what happened. I just remember walking down hill a lot, and then somehow ending up in Old Montreal. There was some sort of multicultural food festival ...
Montreal, Quebec, Canada anaisetmatI realize the mapping function makes it look like I am at home right now, but I'm not. I will be home in about 24 hours though. However, I'm going to hand out my 'Backpackies', my awards to my memorable moments and some summations on my thoughts of the extensive time I've spent walking around Europe in search of a good time, in this trip and in prior trips. All in my humble opinion. Highlights of This Trip: Favourite City: Rome or Edinburgh, not ...
Montreal, Quebec, Canada jayne2008... our intuitions, our feelings. Its going to hurt at first, but this is also going to mean freedom. Freedom from our crazy mental that can only think of controlling everything it can. Freedom from those oppressing us with their paranoid minds, making our world a more stressful and dangerous place to live everyday. Freedom from misery and suffering. Freedom that nourishes our every day life with Real substance and Real sense. And so I purposefully did not ...
Montreal, Quebec, Canada erriuc... buildings (circa 1700-1800s), small inviting cafes, boutique shops, cute little laneways, a 'small piece of Paris' in Montreal... except everything here, unlike Paris, is covered in snow!!... Walking up one street you come across what looks like the town square (actually it is the town square)... the square is bordered by the city hall, some more gorgeous "old world" buildings and a huge towering cathedral (Basilique Notre Dame). The cathedral when initially built ...
