    White water rafting

Another day of adventure! We started the day slowly then went down to the river Aspe, about 4 kilometres from us, to meet our timing for the white water rafting trip. We had to be rigged up in wetsuits, lifejackets and helmets, oh what a sight! After a briefing by Sebastian we entered the water for our 7 kilometre journey, it was so much ...

    Le petit train d'Artouste

This little tourist train is billed as the highest train line in Europe. It is an hour from us up the valley from Pau to Spain and you get up to the embarcation point by cablecar. The little carriages on a 500 mm gauge track run 10 km along the mountainside at 2000m elevation to the head of the valley where there is an ...

    A drive in the mountains

Our hosts arranged for lunch at a guesthouse restaurant called Toison D'Or (Golden Fleece) in a little settlement with marvellous views. The set meal chosen was great with gaspacho with trimmings to add in, spatchcock with salad, cheese, tarte au pommes, red Spanish wine and coffee. All this was served by a gracious lady host, chef and owner while falcons and eagles soared in front and below. A few detours to steep valley towns and home at ...

    Easter Bliss

    Back
at the farm for the Easter break, and boy did it feel good to come
back. A really warm welcome from Gwen and Claire and a surprise of
baby Rabbits and a near complete terrace. It's massive and like a
whole extra house outside! Lot's more flowers and leaves on trees, and
cuddles with the kids and Eloise the Lamb. We started up with curing
(well, starting the process) some pork belly and eventually once the
    kids were down had ...

    Paradise Ending

    The
last couple of weeks have been very relaxed as we have become more
set in our temporary home. The building of the terrace really takes
shape which is exciting and and more and more of spring shows! I am
becoming more and more like my Mum as I get excited about all the
flowers blooming! Little Lamb Eloise is doing really well and very
adorable, running over to you (rather than away like the others)
