Make and mend

Going nowhere today. I actually got my running shoes out this morning and went for a 5km run. It was beautifully cool but the day got progressively hotter and hotter and by the afternoon was quite uncomfortable. T and I went to a bar which had free wifi so that we could talk to Jenny as she has been trying to contact us. It turned out to be nothing but it was ironic to see them sitting in the campervan wearing beanies while ...

Today we are going to head back to Saint Jean de Losne which is only 2 hours away so we are not leaving until after lunch. We can't see any cafe in the village street but we see a sign that points us up a footpath past the Town Hall and after what seems like for ever we arrive at a big roundabout where there is a large supermarket. As it is now 12:30 we decide to have lunch in ...

... and unexpected around the bend. Shortly after leaving town, we encountered the Percée de Thoraise, a 185 meter tunnel, built between 1803 and 1810, that allows boats to circumvent a big loop of the river. It has a "waterfall entrance", with water directed down through a half-circular pipe that would certainly give your boat a thorough washing as it entered the tunnel! The cycle path however, followed the loop ...
