Last stop in France

After brekkie it was onto Menton which is a lovely little town just before the Italian border. Menton is a much more down to earth place than its neighbours and more our scene. We found a park right on the beach and went for a wander and took in sum much needed sun. Next stop Italia!!
Not the full monte

... and not campervan parking friendly. We found a picture perfect stop just after Monte Carlo at the top of a hill overlooking the Med. We had the place to ourselves so we russelled up some brekkie in the sun which was lovely, so much so we were in t-shirts!!!

Gorges Verdon... Route Napoleon

... seen and spoken to, to date.
Set off mid morning to drive through Gorges du Verdon, again another stunning drive. This time though the weather was kind to us and we were able to get out for a hike after lunch. It seemed like a popular drive as we encountered several other tourists, one couple were eating lunch at the same spot we were. They packed up their picnic, took a swig out of ...

Antibes and St-Tropez

Cannes is not as glamrous as we thought it would be, it still has all the fancy smancy stores along the beach, but there were definitely no red carpets rolled out when we were there. We did a day trip to St-Tropez, its was the end of a hge sailing competitiona and tons of ...

Princess Lesia of Monaco !

... we opted not to return to the Ruby Princess just yet. Instead we chose to visit the casino in Monte-Carlo. Here, we found where the rich and famous come to play! There were BMW's, Mercedes, Audi's, Porsche's, Ferrari's and even a Lamborghini. We even witnessed a Volkswagon wedding car. Hmm! A wedding in Monte-Carlo! Can you say $$$$$$$?

We couldn't make a visit to the casino without making a wager ...

A day of reflection…

... Chinese laundry with clothes hanging all over the place to dry. Doing nothing gave us a chance to reflect on our trip so far and think about all the crazy experiences, things we liked and things we didn’t.

The smokers…everyone smokes, I think even the babies when they come out of the womb, but that’s not confirmed. You can’t sit in a restaurant without smoke wafting in your face and ...

St. Paul de Vence & Vence

... donerek hemen yakinimdaki park yerine dogru arabanin onunden sivilar, sular akita akita geliyordu. Arabayi park ettikten sonra kufurler ederek tamponu ve diger parcalari almak uzere tekrar yola cikti. Otoparkci ile birbirimize "Deli herhalde!" isareti yaptik. Iste bu sirada hayatimin hatasini yaptim. Once adam yolda giderken arkadan fotografini cektim, sonra da arabanin yanina gidip hasarli yerin. St Paul de Vence my last perched village!

... days there in bed as l had come down with a nasty flu and its not that much fun working with four girls on holidays when you have the flu! Although the palm tree patio and Lillie's on which my bedroom looked out upon, the huge shower and bathroom with lovely tiling which l shared with the girls was enough to get me through! Ohhh but l was so jealous when l saw the bathroom of my employees! Their bath had been elevated so that it had a majestic view over St Paul de Vence! How ...

Monaco

... for Africa. The boat drifted off course and ran aground on the coast of modern-day Monaco, where a state was founded in her honour. The first serious spate of building in the area - the perimeters of today's Prince's Palace - was undertaken by the Ligurians, a Ghibelline Genovese dynasty that ruled Monaco in the 13th century. But on 8 January 1297 the first of the Grimaldis, François, snuck into the citadel behind the backs of the Ghibellines and ...
