... Gorges du Tarn were often smooth, wide (for a change) and few campervans. At Rimeize our accommodation is on a working farm, including hissing geese. Yes we have a big double room & a big bathroom and a perfectly comfortable dining area, but the town is 4kms away. A delightful change to the town-based hotels and apartments we've had so ...

Amr says he thinks today was the best walk so far. It was again gorgeous countryside. The book said "moderate" today rather than easy, and I think it was because we had to descend right down a mountainside on rather uneven stony path. In fact I think we have just crossed the Aubrac mountains, having been high up there for the last few days. Today was fabulous! We woke and found that a night's sleep did wonders, no stiffness or sore feet, and bouncing ready to go! We walked 22.2 kms, and arrived here in Aumont-Aubrac soon after 2 pm. This is a real town with a mairie and post office and we are about to explore. Shouldn't take long as it is very small, but it is a pretty place, and we have to find somewhere for dinner, as tonight it is not part of ...

... spectacular! You will see from photos, but of course they never do it justice. We left at 8.30 and got here at about 3 pm which wasn't bad, with a stop at a bar (for Amr to have some wifi really) and a lunch stop....munching on French bread and cheese is divine when you have been walking hard uphill. We are staying at a little guesthouse, B and B type place, with a very cheerful woman who was chatting and ...
