... slightly down at heel cousin to Monte Carlo, where we will be tomorrow.

Walking back to the hotel, the world suddenly disappeared under a cloak of light mist. Now you see me, now you don't. And now we most certainly didn't.
Nothing. Nada. Zilch.

The rest of the group were assembling so we joined them for a drink by the pool.Slowly the world re-appeared.

Drinks on the terrace were followed by dinner.
Let the tour begin.

Verdasco played hard and a had a tough match to beat Berdych, then Nadal cruised past Berrer. We enjoyed watching Ferrera beat Tsonga, if only because Tsonga seems to have developed a bad attitude (in our, of course, informed and educated view!) in his game and also since he was French and the local favourite so it was fun for us to barrack for the underdog.
