... because she saw pate on the menu. She had this last night and says she wants it again. When she goes to order it we find out that pate means pasta in French. She doesn't want pasta, and pate isn't on the menu. She is not happy. The waitress asks us if we need another minute to decide. We tell her that we do. What we really need is about another hour. ... although John and several others in our group stayed up until 1.30am sampling the local beers.

John's activities make my trip all that much better seeing John enjoying himself. Kate and John are very popular members of the tour and when they asked Jackie and I if we were interested in joining them on an overseas trip I was very conscious of trying to make it relevant to their interests. I think jackie and I have succeeded and we are really pleased.

... be here in September before she goes off to England to work for Chapel Down winery in Kent for 5 weeks. Then Dax and Jai, Tony, Jan and Christopher at Christmas (Becky will be in Sydney) so I won’t be back in Perth until next year. I am still hoping to see another couple of faces over here (Lee, Cheryl, Linda, Beryl & Bobby, Jo & Geoff???? I have plenty of room in October which is a great month here as all the tourists will be gone).

It was nice to walk around Nice. There are a lot of shops as well and things are not cheap here. I guess that has something to do with the celebrities that hang out here. I didn't see any though. I found some nice shoes tho in a little shop and decided they would be nice to wear tonight. The coach picked everyone up at 3 o'clock to take us back to the campsite so we could get ready for our night out. To save money, we all ...
