We had a whale of a time!

... living room, bedrooms etc. I loved it there! After we'd found a bed, which was hard in the dark when some people were already sleeping, we went to the pub which was fully equipped with a bonfire and guitar. Loads of other assistants were there being merry and we hung around for a while catching up with each other and sharing experiences so far!

The next day was the Zodiac Experience. We excitedly put on the very fetching over trousers equipped with braces and the orange ...

Walbeobachtungstour

In Baie-St.

The Whales

OK it is pretty hard to beat this, sitting on an outcrop of rock in Tadoussac watching Minky whales pass by. It means I am a little distracted as I write this and hop up occasionally calling out with all the others here "look' 'over there' 'wow' etc. I am also once more impressed with my lovely wee laptop (thanks Alistair) I just never grow bored of how fantastic it is to have such a portable machine. We went out this morning to watch for the whales in a ...

Lac St Jean to Tadoussac

Our little bed and breakfast was quite
simple but very nice, it was run by a young couple very eager to make
our stay a good one and they fussed over us with a beautiful
breakfast of waffles and cereal looking out over Lac St Jean. This
lake as they call it is much more like a sea, it is absolutely huge,
you can't see across it in any direction. We had a good plan for the
day with the first stop at the local wildlife park Zoo Sauvage de
Saint Felicien. We ...

Whale's, not the country

We decided instead of taking the direct route to Tadoussac rather to take the longer mountain via Alma which would be less busy and hopefully we'd get to see a moose, deer or even bear! As luck would have it we did get to see a moose, a large male with some huge antlers. Sadly the impressive animal was spread eagle on the back of a pick-up with a glassy look in its eyes and would no doubt shortly be taking up a spot on the trophy wall. Even though the drive didn't offer up any Canadian ...

Tadoussac - last day

So it was time for our last day in this beautiful place, by which time most of us had decided we'd quite like to pack in our jobs and just live here instead! As this wasn't possible we instead said goodbye to Tadoussac by having a very filling brunch, wandering around town and then heading up to the sand dunes for an amazing view, before saying our reluctant goodbyes ...

Tadoussac Day 2

Saturday was a beautiful day in Tadoussac - bright blue skies and hardly a cloud to be seen, at least, on land! Having had a nice lie in and a lazy brunch in the village, at 1pm we booked ourselves onto a 3 hour cruise to go find us some whales. For the first 30 minutes or so we didn't have much luck, until a Minke whale popped up out of nowhere and disappeared again! Following that up popped a couple of Beluga whales (suprinsingly cute), and then another quiet patch ...
