Not quite so hot today, just 27c. After breakfast we drove to Belvès a medieval town just 20 minutes drive away. The first thing we saw was a group of school children, it made Dave's day! ... on market days, it brings us all out of the woodwork. By 3pm we went back up the hill to our gíte to recover by the pool. Dave had a kip while I read. ... site has been used for thousands of years.Furniture stc. Is 17th to 19 th century from the family that last occupied it. A great kitchen with fire lit and smoke directed through a slit in the rock to outside was interesting with all the copper pots and utensils needed for a grand occasion.Stairs to each layer with windows cut through the outer rock walls allowed access and there were 2 outside levels for great views of the valley below.
