      ... at her husband. We had also noticed an awful smell around the site, which we think came from a refridgeration and processing plant across the road. When I asked Madame what the awful smell was, she replied - les vaches - I think she meant dead ones!
      This campsite may be convenient for the roads, but is definitely not one we will be hurrying back ...

      ... br> We continued on along the towpath to the Grand Forge de Buffon. This was built in 1768 by George-Louis Leclerc, Count of Buffon. On the river level are the furnace, refinery and foundry and above it lodgings ,gardens and the farm.
      it was closed, but we could see most of it.

      ... It was of nice level gravel, with high hedges and big enough to give large areas of sun and shade. The toilet facilities were fine, although you had to let the water run a while to get hot.
      There was even free wifi on the pitch but not very strong.
      We had lunch sitting ...

      the town is picturesque, but a lot of the old buildings and shops are either shut up, for sale or just been left to decay.
