Leaving Chateauneuf-en-Auxios was much nicer in the cool of the morning going down than it had been arriving the previous day and it wasn't long until we were back on the canal and on our way to Pouilly-en-Auxois, one of the larger towns along the way.
It is here that we lose sight of the canal for 3.3 kilometres when it reaches its highest point and passes in a man made tunnel called La Voute under the Pouilly hills. ...
