... The evening parade was so different. The costumes look wonderful under the lights of the arches and the flaming torches. One character insisted that I get covered in confetti. It makes a huge mess in Monty. It's over in under an hour as everyone goes to the many bars around the town. The gendarmes keep a friendly eye over things. ... the other side of the town, and saw the huge Caldera spa, a huge shard of glass pointing into the sky, before heading back towards the old part of town and eventually my bus back to Barcelona.

The town isn't very big, and so it didn't take long to see it, but it was a fun experience, and if you love mountains, skiing or luxury shopping then it's worth the visit.

The last two weekends of the Fecos are the most spectacular. The bands of the world procession around the place de Republic and the town is spectacular. It winds its way through the arches in front of the shops accompanied by loud rhythmic bands. National dress (or undress!), fancy dress and downright stupid is the order of the day.
