Travel Blogs from Quebec City
These last few days have been insane... We have done so much and I am behind in everything, including this blog so I am writing it out on the subway currently! I am also currently running on 5 hours of sleep!
So I guess I should update you all on the past week!
We arrived in Montreal and got to the church we are staying at around noon on Sunday. We unpacked and went in search of food. The rest of the night ...
We began the day at 8:40 with 72 degrees. And although the temps seem on the low side, we have not given up our shorts and short-sleeved shirts. 72 in Maine feels a lot warmer than 72 in Florida. It warmed up a bit, but we got into a lot of rain today, so the temps varied over the afternoon.
Our first hurdle was getting the Quebec address into our Toyota GPS. For some reason, it just didn't like the address we were given, so ...
... to check out the snow sculptures which were pretty awesome, and then had a go on the ferris wheel, i still have this fear of heights that I cant shake but i kicked on with it anyway. We watched some grommets playing hockey on the rink and then went to an area where we got to contribute to the construction of an igloo. It was all messed up and i contributed to knockin a few blocks off myself.
One of the big things i wanted to do ...
... night cap and immediately headed back to our hostel for showers and bed once we had finished our maple flavoured delights. Today was a day of sensory over stimulation...the feeling of the warm sun on our faces, sights of a beautiful skyline, the pressure under our feet as we pounded the pavement, the smells of fresh spices, the sounds of bubbles excitingly popping in our sparkling cider and a kalodeiscope of flavours dancing on our taste buds from beautiful wines, cheeses, meats and silky chocolates. Now that is what I call ...
... from below, your pictures and view will also be "damaged" by the tourists at the site. But if you're daring and willing, you can climb up the rocks, jump over fallen trees, avoid dangling spider webs to get a grander and magnificent view of the falls. There will be just peace and the soothing sound of the water. You get to come so near till you can feel sprinkles of water from the falls on your face.
It all depends on what you want to make out from your travelling.
