Day started out sunny and we hit rain at 4 pm near Matane, a very french town on coast Gaspe. Found a lovely B & B for the night. And walked into town to local pub to sample the local beer and pizza. The drive along the Gaspe is beautiful, every small village and town has an enormous Catholic Church and they all ring there bells on the hour, reminds me of Europe. - We arrive at Camping Amqui which is a Municipal Campsite and one of the nicest we have seen so far. It is on the end of a long lake and there are fingers of water ...

... proximity to the seashore and the smell of salty air, and the birdsong in the woods. It really was enchanting, and we both felt it was a place we could revisit and revisit.

Continuing on our eastward journey clockwise around the Gaspe, we stopped at a restaurant in Matane for a fish lunch. After a little back and forth with the unilingual French waitress and my limited French, and trying to explain about needing gluten free food, we ...
