Amsterdam ... Predicted temperature 30°c ... Sounds like a good excuse to escape the city and explore a couple of recommended destinations: 1. Kröller-Müller Museum which is sort of central and east of Amsterdam near to Arnhem, and 2. Kinderdijk which is south of Amsterdam and close to Rotterdam. A little judicious Google-mapping and your average Dutch person would say definitely two different day trips. Your ...

So we followed the tunnel below ground and spent ages discovering the second fascinating displays. More creatures and lots of skulls and fossils, an exhibit on water and human use / waste of water and how the waterways get polluted. Fascinating stuff. Definitely worth a visit - fab for kids. We finished the tour ...

We had a good run to De Hoge Veluwe, Hoenderloo entrance. There was a very odd (but extremely friendly and smiley) guy at the barrier ...

The alarm went off bright and early this morning, but we had to catch the train to Ede and then a bus to Wageningen! It's a national holiday here in the Netherlands. It's Liberation Day. Everyone is headed for ceremonies across the country. We arrived in W(for short) after a great train ride...well after we got kicked out of the first class section. No wonder Jane and I were amazed at how comfortable ...

... so Bruno and I just tried to look interested.
Sabine left to go home, and Michael asked me to go to the supermarket to buy some wine to bring there for dinner. So off I went again, the man at the supermarket knew me by now!
After closing up, Paul led the way to the B & B at a farm. Our hostess was Pauline, one of Paul's customers. It was an old Dutch farmhouse, very rustic and charming. She gave us a glass of wine and beer, and we sat outside and relaxed. While ...
