Ended up here agin after inspecting two other aires, both OK but a bit dirty underfoot and one had to pay. Le Hourdel is free and this time we managed to park on the edge of the beach with clear views across Le Baie du Somme. While at lunch we shared some great stories with a very cute couple Pauline(her daughter) and Simon. ... the sea in an estuary where the sea at times retreats 12 km from the shore . The small town had about 10 million people so we beat a retreat after a photo opportunity challenging to make a estuary look interesting . Eu was our lodging for the night , a really quaint place with enormous doors at the front and an old inerior you have to see to believe.
