Our target for the day was to explore the Auvergne area, and see the landscapes with more than 400 volcanoes. Some of the volcanoes are as old as 65 million years, and the youngest about 7'600 years.

As we made our way out of Clermont we noticed some dark ominous clouds in the direction we were going. We were driving on winding roads as we traversed the countryside and eventually saw some pretty big mountains. We were entering ski country. And a bit further north again......seeking climbing. The book says it's rich pickings around here in this small ski resort. It probably is......but we didn't hang aground to find out. It dropped to about 4 deg at night and we woke up in the clouds.......and rain. So we moved on again.
