Way to and from Prince Edward Island
... into the rain. We stayed at a nice man's place in Charlottetown due to the season. Every hostel was closed so make sure you go earlier or you can still book into B&Bs for a while. We took his advice and explored the east coast of the island so we could see the red sandy beaches, the white ones and more lighthouses :)

Cheticamp french bakery....
At the end of our hike in the park, we stopped at a great little French bakery in Cheticamp Village, just outside the park, for a little indulgance. The coconut cream pie was the best I've ever had and Kim said his carrott cake was the best he's ever had too! This little bakery came highly recommended and now we know why. YUMMM! And bought a fresh, hot loaf of pumpernickle for the road - bet it's gone before we're off Cape Breton Island.

Skyline Trail Hike - Cape Breton Highlands NP
... into a cow moose just beside the trail - keeping our distance, we were able to snap a couple of photos of her before she moved off into the woods.
Then we reached the top of the trail - high on the ridge, high above the Atlantic ocean, and the wind was unbelievable (and dangerous! That part of the trail is a board walk to protect the plant species, but even then, it was way too windy ...
Dinner and Music at The Red Shoe Pub
... really fun to be part of it. (NO, we did not participate in the dance or music.)
Attached is a couple of photos we took with cell phone, and a short film clip that - not sure the clip will open. If it does open, the beginning is visually blank because the phone was laying on the table when we started recording the music - but eventually there is a visual.

Great beach walk and rock hounding
Found a great beach that we returned to on our way to dinner in Mabou. We stopped at Inverness for a wonderful, long walk in the sunshine, on this gorgeous beach - and it looked like we were on the green isle of Scotland or Ireland. The golf course wrapped over the dunes to the edge of the beach, with a long boardwalk all along the edge of the golf course right next to the beach, and the homes there were all surrounded ...
