      ... a delightful and spacious residence filled with antique furniture, priceless rugs, and paintings that probably belong in a museum. Cyrill's family crest is proudly emblazoned throughout the apartment, including on a statue he recently commissioned above the main entrance. I warned the kids ahead of time not to touch anything, and told them that if they accidentally broke something I would have to garnish their allowance for the next 150 years.

      Since arriving in Basel on July 20th, and taking a tram down town and back, I have been struck by the incredible efficiency of the Swiss transport system. Our tram arrived when the sign said it would arrive, and our train the next day to Zurich left exactly when it was supposed to leave.
