Hamish and I took a train and bus up to Each-Sur- Sure. A very pretty region that is part of one of the Luxembourg National Parks. The trees were past there autumn best, but still pretty. We started off by exploring the castle... now a well preserved ruin, that sits above a town that is in the"u" bend of the river Sure. Then we walked along the river banks towards Lultzhausen. It was a track some ...

Didn't quite make it to Echternach. Train to Luxembourg almost inexplicably stopped in Arlon. We had to take a bus the rest of the way, but the buses didn't go until eventually. We got to Luxembourg in time to wander briefly, get caught in another downpour and come back to ...

He was lost on the 3rd April 1943, while flying a Lancaster sortie over Germany. He rests, with his mates lost at the same time, in the Reichswalde cemetery. We have been to many WWI and WWII cemetery's on our trip, including places in Germany, Belgium, France and Italy, so it was fitting that this was our last. The ...

... to Grund to find the lift up to the main part of the city. Even though we walked down we were not going to climb back up to the top.

On returning to the top we decided go on the mini-train ride around the city with commentary. This was nice enough, although it went to most of the places we had walked, but it did go to one part we had not been to; the other side, furthest from our hotel. After the ride we decided to have lunch and a long cool drink, one of the major ...

          ... upstairs and packing up.

The hotel were nice enough to hold all our baggage for the day. They also didnt charge us for our corretti and chocolate the night before or the water we took from the fridge. Breakfast was included and all for a 'huge' 105EU…superb value…wow!!!

We then took off back onto the Metro and to the ‘Castello’ to start our Bus tour. The weather was quite cool but not too cold that we needed jackets…mind ...
