        This road looks comfy!

... We opted for Cians. For a few different reasons, firstly it was down hill to get there. Down hills are always fun and rewarding. Secondly, both routes looked equally beautiful but the road and highway options to Gorge du Cians looked to be a bit smaller and less busy. Cains it was, decision made. As we trudged along during the day we came to the intersection for the first Gorge, stopping momentarily we discussed if we should change our route. Nope, let's ...

Not sure if we had managed our time correctly during the first weeks of our Europe Adventure as we had busted our gut to see the major towns of Europe. After leaving Monte Carlo our road trip became what we expected. With no real targets to met apart from getting the van home we headed off the freeway into the romantic French Alps. ... about a 60 mile round trip and so it took a few hours due to the twisty roads and relentless camper vans. The gorge itself was wondrous with the sides stretching up to the road at 1,100M (the depth of the gorge is about 350M). Lots of bikes around the gorge enjoying the bendy bits – Brian would love it! Finally made it back to the lake, peeled off the bike gear and went in for a swim. The water was surprisingly warm and we had a lovely cool off.

        Homesick in Southern France

... Nevetheless, the food tasted delicious throughout the workcamp, as at least one member of the kitchen pair always knew what he/she was doing.

Apart from our indoor toilet adjacent to the kitchen, our numbers dictated that we build a creative outdoor one as well. Essentially, we dug a 2-meter deep hole and lay wooden planks along each side, so that the person could place their feet on the planks and stand over the hole. I will not get into specifics too ...

        Jetlagged and homesick, again

... in Digne). I did not, did not, did NOT want to do any of those things. I'd complained while I was home about receiving no job training (and I mean NO job training), and I think talking about it made me anxious about returning and planning lessons. So there I was at school again, fighting jet lag, completely unsocial, unwilling to go back to work, and wishing I had another job. I even had a dream in which we were all told ...
