... The monastery itself was relatively small in comparison to the others, but much like the others it was in the process of building and expanding. There was a busload of pilgrims there, as there are every other day, from churches in the Quebec area, particularly Montreal. Unlike US Orthodoxy's sometimes hesitant relationship with monasticism, the French Canadian Greeks have a very close and intimate bond with their monastery.

Took me a while to get to sleep as my bites were rather itchy. They're looking rather hideous today... Had breakfast with Elliot who then left to go to Halifax, we exchanged Facebooks and he might be in Québec at the same time as me so if he is we'll meet up. I then tackled the task of my washing, which turned out to be rather successful - everything is still the same size and colour. Spoke to Dad and Em on skype which was nice, ...
... Accent is very strange but I can understand, and she thought I was from France which was cool! Made it to the lake and swam out to the pontoon and lay there for a good half an hour before deciding it was time for a long shower... Lovely! Cooked pasta with Elliot, so feeling fed, watered, content and raher exhausted! Sitting in the communal area by the bar, good to have my feet up! ... a bicycle for the day which included a helmet and lock. We rode beside the Riviere-du-Nord, saw a waterfall, rode over a bridge, and rode Rails to Trails. We saw a lot of mothers pushing jogging strollers, walkers, other bikers, and other really serious bikers. They sped by us so fast.
We ate lunch at a picnic table in the park and continued riding all day. We estimate we rode 16 miles.
