... the 2 Kms to town. Stunning views from the rocky hillsides to the harbour and fishing boats and stone built whitewashed houses. Apparently Richard Gere and Ali McGraw both have houses here. Interestingly, houses here are passed on from mother to daughter. Bad luck Kimbo! Would have been nice! Our relatively inexpensive hotel room is perched right over the Aegean Sea. Joanne loves watching the intensely ...

We spent the morning on Ikaria, an island untouched by tourism. It was so nice to wander in a village seeing the locals just doing their day-to-day chores, not trying to sell things to tourists. It felt 'real'. In the afternoon we headed for Delos and put the sails up for the first ...

... surrounds this monastery; we walked through narrow alleyways flanked by more whitewashed houses - but of quite different architecture to those on Santorini. Murray and I opted to walk back down to the village of Skala, the walkway was built from stones - like cobbles but very undulating - we had to watch every step - it was still worth the walk though. Rain set in during the late afternoon, hopefully it will be all over ...
