... south Tehran is poor... And more. All in a 20 minutes and well worth the fare.

The rental car has sat nav, thank goodnes. However, we are now on pretty familiar turf. We headed off to Bad Homburg for lunch at our favourite potato restaurant. Now we are in Usingen at one of our favourite little hotels, the Kaminstube and are meeting our friends, Adelheid and Joachim for supper.

We arrive in Frankfurt around 11:00 a.m. David gets instructions on and where to take the train into the city. As we ride along I noticed that the color of the leaves are now turning yellow and orange. The country side is just beautiful. The part of the city that we saw was mapped out like a

  • We stopped for a kebab on the way home and were introduced to the dodgy side of Frankfurt. ...

Though I'm writing from Frankfurt, unfortunately we are not on the ocean surrounded by mountains. I am currently sitting in Römer, the old district in Frankfurt, having a cappuccino and writing about Montenegro. We went to Kotor, Montenegro after our four days in Dubrovnik, by bus. The bus took forever to get there and it was not air-conditioned, so we were pretty glad to finally arrive! The bus ride involved a ferry ride as well, which I had never seen buses do ...

Early wake up call at the Inglaterra in Barcelona. All packed and ready to go, a quick shower and just two blocks away, at the gigantic Placa de Catalunya, we boarded the Aeroporto Bus for our return flight to the US. Change of planes at Frankfurt in Germany and from there a very long 11 + hour flight to San Francisco - given our 5 hour wait for the final leg to Bend.

A few ruses at the check in counter for Lufthansa... one of our bags was slightly over the limit ...
