... I realised that the station names were painted on the tiny station buildings, but as the train was very long and my carriage was towards the back, I could only see the name as we left the station! Luckily, as we got closer to the Lake, the signage got better and with the use of my iphone GPS I managed to get off at the correct stop, phew!

I thought it was handy that my guesthouse was only 5 minutes walk from the train station, but ...

... amazing storms while we were at the lake and the locals told us that the heat of Summer had passed and from here on it would only get cooler. By my calculations that gives them a total of 2 scorching hot weeks of Summer?? This is my kind of place!! The rain and storms amazingly only seemed to fall at night and made for a beautiful way to drift off to sleep, while during the day it still remained quite steamy!!

... who were in the restaurant relaxing from their first of today's show, though seemed bored enough, were keen on our idea.

So in the end our puszta experience remained limited to walking along a few sandy tracks for several kms, seeing a herd of great horses and a few donkeys, sheep and traditional cattle around the farm, as well as a night in the tent under the stars. I guess that's actually not too bad after all. Of course not ...
