... my pants! No one else seemed too bothered about the snake though and just carried on regardless! I was later told that the snakes are harmless but I never went back in the water to find out!!

So in the end our puszta experience remained limited to walking along a few sandy tracks for several kms, seeing a herd of great horses and a few donkeys, sheep and traditional cattle around the farm, as well as a night in the tent under the stars. I guess that's actually not too bad after all. Of course not ...
