This is a nice hotel not too far from the train station and within walking distance of the Old Town section with lots to see and do. Neighborhood is a little seedy.

Got in to Munich late afternoon Monday and were welcomed by a drizzly rain. Just the thing for walking to your hotel. We made the mistake of exiting out of the wrong side of the station and got a little disoriented, so it took a little longer to find the hotel than we had planned. Good thing there was one right where we decided we were lost, …

... so I drove over there & after missing the turn-off about 3 times, eventually went in ... then realised I hadn't filled up the car so took off again to find a petrol station, then came back again, dropped the keys off in their after-hours box (it was about 9pm by now) & then began the walk back to the hotel.

... On the bright side, I learned that GI stands for gastrointestinal - just in case you were wondering also. We grabbed some beers and then went to meet up with Max who was just finishing dinner with a bunch more guys he had met. There were 7 guys and Karliana and I. Naturally, I had to mention that it was a 'sausage fest' and it was ironic that we were in Germany. I thought it was clever at least. I'm sorry you had to read that, Grandpa! ...

... museum was over the top. Lots of gold, lots of paintings, ornate furnishings, and sculptures. The theater was amazing too.

Found a place to eat some veggie schnitzel (hell yeah!) and have a tall beer. The older gentleman (who reminded me of Albert Finney) next to me chatted me up for a bit. He's a travel guide writer so we talked about places we've been. Very nice man. Hope his next book is a success.

Moved along and grabbed dessert and a ...
