We left our tropical island late on the 30th which gave us another full day before our boat transfer to Male airport for the Emirates flight to Dubai.

The flight left 30 minutes early late in the evening and after a three and half hour flight we were in Dubai…35 degrees at 03:00 in the morning!

We went straight to bed for a …

Landed at midnight into Dubai and quick taxi ride to Jumeriah and our hotel. Wow! Is all I can say. The 2 bedroom apartment is nearly as big as our house and I reckon the 4 places the Griswalls have stayed in around Europe could comfortably fit into this place. Scuba diving course (PADI) for James and Guy this morning followed by a shark tank dive …

Dolphins!

A great last day of our trip and certainly one we will remember for years to come. Emily and Dawn did the dolphin encounter at Dolphin Bay here at The Atlantis. They learnt about dolphins then spent 30minutes in the water with one called Blade. Got to pat it, play catch and have a kiss with it. Both were thrilled with the whole experience. Ruby and …

Spent the afternoon by the pool and water park. There are not many other sensible options that don't involve air conditioning in the heat here. We are in the middle of Ramadam so the locals are fasting from sunrise to sunset. Some restaurants are open for visitors but they have to be boarded up or have their curtains drawn so you cannot be seen …

    Atlantis on the Palm Islands

Took cab over to Atlantis Resort out at the end of the man-made palm islands. Very similar to Atlantis Paradise Island, except only the main hotel - Royal Towers. No other towers or residences, so much quieter, less crowded - kind of boring actually. Although, they do have the Aquaventure, which I did not go into, and I am sure it is much livelier in there. Not sure why they have the resort beaches on the coastal side, looking at Dubai. The view over the Gulf would be better. Has lunch at the Kalaidascope restaurant, one of a few with outside dining. Buffet lunch, about $40 equivalent, large selection, mostly international cuisines though.

Brunch - All you can eat/drink

    Reviewed Apr 22, 2013
by (14 reviews) Aylesbury , United Kingdom Flag of United Kingdom

Fine dining all you can eat and all the alcohol you can drink in 4 hours, 12-4pm, at the world's first 7* hotel on the famous palm, this was one not to be missed!

Brunches are pretty well know by the locals in Dubai and the Atlantis is one of the more luxury one's to go to. When you arrive at the plush location you're greeted by a porter who valet parks your car! Once we got inside we combed the area for alcohol and they have an Absolut vodka station with every flavour, slush puppy vodka daiquiri's, Frangelico and Baileys ice cream shots, cocktails in carved out melons and coconuts and loads of other drinks but the above sorted me. If they filmed these events for TV towards the end of the event it would look like a scene out of Booze Britain!

The food was luxury and so well prepared, everything looked so appetising and I tried to leave space to sample as much glorious food as possible before the free alcohol consumed the entire cubic feet of my body. They food from all round the world, from the fish bar I managed to try for the first time Red Snapper, Lobster, Sword Fish and Cat Fish and they were all surprisingly damn tasty.

If you visit Dubai you have to go to a brunch!

Atlantis the Palm - great for kids

    Reviewed Jan 27, 2013
by (2 reviews) Margao , India Flag of India

We stayed on the Imperial Club floor and it was great. The kids enjoyed the play area in the lounge and it was nice to have somewhere to come to and relax. We stayed two nights and it was enough time to explore everything the hotel has to offer. In january, the water in the water park was a little chilly but otherwise, the kids enjoyed the morning there. The kids club is also excellent, my 4 year old went in for 2 hours and he wasn't done playing when i went to pick him up! The restaurants are all excellent and the staff is super courteous.

What a way to end a great holiday

    Reviewed Jan 8, 2012
by (2 reviews) , New Zealand Flag of New Zealand

Thirty six hours of total luxury, pampering and adventure. From the moment of arrival at reception at 11am on Tuesday, until our departure after dinner at 11pm on Wednesday, we experienced five star attention. A very attentive bellboy helped us with our luggage to our fabulous room on the 4th floor. Amazing views over the complex.
Fantastic choice of restaurants, with amazing customer service.
The waterworld was great fun, and the dolphin experience was great.
Fantastic value for money. and I particularly appreciated the use of the hospitality room which allowed us the opportunity to change from our swimming gear and dress up for dinner, before leaving at 11pm.
Would recommend this as a "must stay here" to anyone travelling to Dubai.
