Sabang, Mindoro, Philippines cagonuAs some of you may remember from my entry of a couple of weeks ago "Misadventures of Russ" I've been trying to get to Sabang for my EFR and Rescue Diver courses. <br><br>And I'm sure you've been waiting anxiously for the latest asking yourself; <br>"Did he make it back down there?"<br>"Did the ferry sink?" <br>"Did he pass the courses?" <br>"What the hell do I care about that ******* anyway; he sits on ...
Sabang, Mindoro, Philippines rjdempMy schedule for the Philippines is pretty busy, so the following day early morning I set off southward to Batangas, taking a ferry to Puerto Galera, one of the country's diving zones. The sea was very rough, so the cruise took over two hours as opposed to scheduled one. Bags started getting wet and people sick. Many passengers vomited, I think it's a standard in vessel transport here. <br>I landed in Sabang, a little town ...
Puerto Galera, Mindoro, Philippines tsimko... to wait longer than you should. Next time we may take the private boat El Galleon can send for you at whatever time you prefer. One good thing about living in Manila is that Sabang is in our back yard - sort of. Instead of saying good bye we said see you next time and meant it. We just have to figure out when next time will be. You can also check out our pictures from the trip: Pictures of the trip
Puerto Galera, Philippines rjdemp... seat about 50 people or so at full capacity. I was a bit afraid that the ocean waves would cause some sea sickness, but it was pretty smooth...like a speed boat on a lake anyway. So we were on the boat for about an hour and a half. Then they put us on a tricycle. Unlike the tricicyle I rode in Manila a year and a half ago which was powered by some guy pedaling a bicycle while I rode in a passenger compartment on ...
Puerto Galera, Philippines markimberly... we kept having offers for rooms! Where were they when we needed them?! Too late, minds made up and we took a tricycle to Puerto Galera, switched to jeepney in there and went to Sabang. The tricycle chauffor surely ripped us off but that's not new. Jeepneys are definately more reliable in that matter. In Sabang there was a local guy who took us to a nice resort owned by a Swedish guy. Steps&Garden was located in the hill and they had very nice bungalows ...

Puerto Galera, Philippines helgamorg... Self." I am motivated. This trip has changed a lot of things in me but mostly my passion for service. I had planned on getting my Masters Degree in Public Administration or Political Science. Now I am leaning more towards Development Policy or International Affairs. Who knows! Tonight I am going to dinner at Bruce Vorsangers home to greet the In-Bound GSE team from the Philippines. They have been in town for 4 days already and I cannot wait to grill them on ...
Home, Philippines jenai... and Tianna was off. She thought it was marvellous and what an experience. There were many people selling everything on the beach from baskets to friendship bracelets to pearl necklaces, watches, fruit and sun glasses. It was the quiet time of year for them and business was obviously slow. They were very nice though and would love a chat. We bought some baskets, friendship bracelets, fruit, a watch, some necklesses and some sun ...
