    ... to come. We saw our first ship at 2pm, and have lifted the sails but still motoring because the lack of wind. We had logged 102 miles at 4pm , a lot better than I thought we would. Just before 5pm we crossed some long line buoys 100 miles offshore, how they find them is beyond me, the wind has turned a full 360degrees today and it's now back on the starboard beam but still only 5/6 knots. One of the weirdest touts was in Safi. This skinny sweating guy followed us down an alley and started talking to us in French.     We finally arrived late at Safi, an old but industrialized town famous for its pottery. We got to the medina, the ancient part of town and looked for Hotels. there must have been some 8 before i found a room. It really was a dirtbag but had no choice. It was only 50Dh (4.50euro / 3.80quid) and the sheets stank and so did the room. The walls ...

    ... to be an alcoholic who was hoping I'd give him money for beer. At the coffee house the server was a 16 years old boy who looked much younger. My "friend" Ahmad explained to me that the boy was sleeping on the streets and the owner of the cafe had let him sleep at the cafe in return for work.
