Arrived after a short uneventful journey. Campsite similar. Weather changeable.

Tourist sites do not always live up to the flowery language used in the brochures eg. "Musicological Nucleus of the Salt" turned out to be a Musee de Sel. We did not go.

The local beauty spots, like every where else, that we did go to were covered with ingrained litter.
We are moving on tomorrow.
Figueira da Foz, Beiras, Portugal mikeandsuecuffWe arrived without incident after a short and pleasant journey. Odd campsite mainly permanent encampments! Most of them looked like they had been there for many years. We were entertained by families arriving over the weekend to pack up for the winter. They cleared out all the rubbish that they had accumulated over the summer. They then covered their caravan.awning and covered area with tarpaulin and tied it down and put stones ...
Aveiro, Aveiro, Portugal mikeandsuecuffIt's amazing how a bit of sunshine lifts the spirits and makes everything look better! Our new campsite, at Figueira da Foz, on the coast about 125 miles north of Lisbon, was just what we needed. Set in pine trees behind the dunes, it was peaceful and relaxing, with the distant sound of the Atlantic breakers to lull us to sleep. There was a brand new and very comfortable toilet block, free wi-fi in the bar ...
Figueira da Foz, Beiras, Portugal oldagetraveller... another spread for breakfeast with our new friends the Conzalas family. The next day our kids finally get to see the Atlantic close up.. [PHOTO_ID_L=3_the-atlantic.jpg warm air, cold atlantic! It was wonderful to end our car journey at the beach with gelatos before leaving for our final drive... back to Amora.
Figueira da Foz, Beiras, Portugal hollingers... town’s population are students. Our room had a good view of the University on top of the hill. We wandered out by the riverside for the Indian restaurant only to find it closed. Back at the hotel, the owner & his girlfriend helped us prepare some soup & upma in the kitchen. After this great dinner & a long 500 km journey behind us, we retired to our bed.
Coimbra, Beiras, Portugal savla78... and taken care of. Salima had left for Africa on Friday, but everyone else above as well as Sameer and Anaisa were in Figueira for the next few days. On Sat, our first day in Fig, Kaka took us to Battalha (a historic monument which marks the spot where the Portuguese launched a successful defense against Spain). The Battalha has the tomb of Joan I. We ate pregos outside Battalha. At the ...
Conimbriga, Beiras, Portugal pille... sajandi kellatorn, mida kutsutakse a cabra (kits), sest igal aastal toimub seal esmakursuslaste rebasteks ristimine. Ristimine ei seisne mitte füüsilises, vaid vaimses piinamises. Noored tudengid reastatakse kellatorni juurde üles ja seejärel hakkavad vanemad kursuslased neid sõnadega mõnitama ja alandama seni, kuni ristitavad panevad padavai kodu poole jooksu, ehk siis nagu kitsed kabuhirmus.

Praegu elatub linn kolmest T-tähega allikast: tanning, textile, tourism ...
Coimbra, Beiras, Portugal pille... with Adam looking for a kebab shop and trying to convince him everything was shut. Eventually did then we got lost (ha something new) we had to go back to the train station and walk home from there as it was the only way we knew. So sporting a fair hangover and rather a bit tired 2 guys staying at the hostel Morton from Denmark and Jamie from Scotland suggested we hit the beach for some soccer. Yeah sure why not how hard could a little game of soccer be. BLOODY HARD let me tell u ...
Figueira da Foz, Portugal hastieHello...

I'm in Portugal now. Last I wrote was in Toledo, I think...I took a night train to Lisbon, where I stayed for one night. It's nice, as far as big cities go, but it's a big city. It's very diverse and the people are real laid back.

After that I went to Sintra, just west of Lisbon. It's a little town in the mountains. Lots of shade, green, and fresh air. I spent many more days there than I planned to. The first night I arrived ...
