Good start to the day and set our course for Portugal stopping off for a lunch stop at Isla Cristina, which is a bustling fishing port and town. They have good facilities for the fleet; plenty space. My birthday! We took the ferry and headed for Vila Real San Antonio (on the Portuguese side) in search of a special final Portuguese lunch but didn't manage to find exactly what we were after so headed back to Ayamonte for some tapas.

... gradually get bigger the more inland you get. And it's interesting to see the differences between the Spanish and Portuguese sides, the Portuguese being more rural with many derelict farm houses and the Spanish (especially near the entrance) more modern with many apartment blocks being built. We anchored in a lovely spot and sat around in the evening watching and listening to
nature. Just idyllic. We even saw a snake swimming from one side of the river to the other.

... for H andG on day one, squid for me and pork for Sue then today fish soup for H and G while I had Gaspacho, nothing for sue then H had fish kebab, Geoff a meat one, I had Steak and Sue has lamb chops. Great wine all round. Sat in the sun for the rest of the afternoon and now at. 7.30 we are ready for bed. Map work to do in the morning before a sad departure from the Hensmans as they plan to stay in Portugal while we go on to Spain. Very Happy ...
