    bittersweet times as we touch the bases on our last two days here. Sunday we drove south to Gennadi, our favorite pebble beach, for a long swim and fish lunch just before the wind came up.     Mary, Shelley & Dan arrived in Lindos Friday afternoon and settled into Mary's beautiful home, aka The Museum. After a slow morning regrouping from our road trip, we headed to the main beach, which is paved with sun beds all summer but comparatively deserted now. Settling into Rosanna's Italian beach taverna, we ordered, had a swim, ate a delicious lunch of seafood risotto and fresh fish, and swam again. The aquamarine sea was clear and warm.     ... budget tickets a few days before you travel. My plan was to go by train from Athens to Thessaloniki as it is a well documented route and sounds great. My ticket cost me €29 but if you book earlier 3/4 weeks in advance you can get some tickets for just €9. Thessaloniki is going to be fun to stay tuned for that one.
    Tomorrow I fly from Rhodes to Athens and into the madness of city life... I wonder if it can handle ...
