... very pretty and so silent and peaceful Was a good idea after all !!! Enjoy the pics , even though a camera doesn't do justice to how beautiful this is ..... Off to Italy now , only way to get through the Swiss/ Italian alps is at the Gran San Bernadino Pass, one of the highest mountain roads in Europe . Just checked it out on the Internet .... was listed as one of the most "dangerous roads in Europe"...... Great !!!!!!! Ciao for now ( I hope!!) ..... ...

... that there had been heavy rain for the last few days and that the rivers were flooding and even Lake Maggiore had burst its banks. We drove home around the lake so I could see how high the water was. It was up to the road in some places and over some of the car park at Stresa. ... We decided on a restaurant with a grand view of Juangfrau and the surrounding mountains. We all ate a huge meal: Sara had veal with mushroom sauce, David had a pizza, Pat had hash browns with ham and an egg, and I had pork steak in butter sauce with a salad. ... That afternoon we all sat around in the common room on wifi, playing cards and talking. After dinner most people went to bed, but 14 of us squished into a maxi taxi and went to the (only) pub in town. There were 2 other Contiki groups there, one of which were doing a 10 day tour, so they were hitting the bar pretty hard.
