Live from New York... It's Friday NIght!
... the time we got to Toronto, we were a bit livelier and even began doing some research for this working holiday. We do have tickets to Katy Perry at Madison Square Gardens and 3 Broadway shows (Private Lives with Paul Gross and Kim Catrall, War Horse and How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying with Daniel Radcliffe, Harry Potter himself!)), but haven't really planned the rest of the trip like I usually do. ahhhh... serendipity will be our guide on ...
New York, New York ... (in 18 hours)
... cosy hostel dorm room of the trip (I just KNOW I'll learn to love it ....), a classic New York bagel and coffee for brekky, then hooked up with the group and we were off!
Have struck it lucky again with a smallish group of only 6 (2 Aussies including moi, a Brit, a German and 2 Swiss), and a cool tour leader who seems up for anything so fingers crossed for a good trip!
Great to finally be on the road ....

NYC- Western Wonders
Well when I said slumming it I suppose that could have been dramatic- we were off to New York! Our hostel was in the middle of Harlem which I know will make my Mum cringe but we figured we are pretty hardened these days seeing as we survived Rio to Bogota….. Anyway it was a great hostel with a pool and a gym!
On our first night we went to see Avenue Q off broadway (sorry to complain but it wasn't as 'hilarious’ ...

... a Monday night. Brooklyn council had taken the initiative to try and reignite Coney Island and was offering free weekly movies on the beach in an effort to restore residents interest. Very appropriately the first movie of the summer chosen was "Saturday Night Fever" which was filmed in Brooklyn and Bay Ridge, also featured the bridge that was between Staten Island and Brooklyn at the fort.
