... all around the area. David and I took many pictures. In some areas they had photographs of the destruction that took place in WWII. The photos showed the before and after reconstruction. Visited two Catholic churches that had been reconstructed as they once were. The architecture shows the influence of Dutch.
Our time is up and we must return to the airport.

... common room where I met a Romanian guy who had been staying there for 6 months! He had had some bad luck with jobs and apartments and was there looking for a new place to stay.

  • I also met a couple of guys from England and Aussie, Rhys, Craig and Dane, and a girl from NZ named Stefanie. The first Kiwi I've met while in Europe!

    ... my next flight. It feels like 4 in the morning for me, so I'm more than a little exhausted, and the hard plastic chairs aren't really conducive to sleep. The 45-minute security lineup didn't help, either. And everyone in this airport -- and on the plane -- seems to have a bad cough; I've been washing my hands obsessively but I fear that I may just be postponing the inevitable.

    Back at the car, no wallet. Had to get to hotel. Boys checked in while Lisa and I looked by the light of her phone. When I had given up hope and the last item to move was Colin's back pack, I spotted it tucked under one of the straps. Big phew.
    Got to our room to play Goldilocks; who has been sleeping in our bed? Yip, room had not been serviced. Perfect end to the Krupp day! All sorted on the end and this hotel has best shower ...
