    ... with our our purchases, we rode our bikes home through the rainy city, doing extremely well in the traffic I must say!

    That afternoon we visited a map shop with very weird opening hours (3 days a week for 2 hours in the afternoon?!!!?!?!) and got all the maps we would need for our ride. Pete loves maps, so he spent that evening poring over them, picking the best routes and thinking about where we might stop overnight.

    I'm happy to say we have made it safety to Berlin, after almost a four hour smooth and easy drive. I wasn't even batting an eyelid as we cruised along at 150kmh and the city driving was also good. I think the roads around Nuremberg were worse and it was good that our Berlin Hotel was more straightforward to navigate which helped keep the stress levels down.

    Amsterdam was an interesting place, I think the most noticeable was that there were no touts, beggars or homeless and a very low key police presence. That and the near constant smell of dope in the air.
