... to me about my wonderful up-coming reservation at ""El Carib" (I know - I am trying to escape from the place) and then cut me off when I took to long to decide which button I had to press next! Decided that it was not the safest of places and that we'd probably get robbed by lurking lady, so booked a hotel a bit further along away the way. We have learnt a valuable lesson today - just stick to the hotel chains. Our new hotel is nice and I will try calling Priceline again ...

The boat ride was a little rough, but the $1 Dramamine they sold before the rise made it almost pleasant. ...

Florida, the Everglades, and Key West! It was an excellent day and it was almost surreal finally reaching Key West after all these days of driving and wonderful sights. First the Everglades. Not a swamp, but a very wide, slow moving river. Dropping about 14 feet over several 100 miles. It is the only place where both crocodiles and alligators live in the same environment. ...

Bright sunny skies with a cool breeze from home welcomed us to Florida, in time to catch the 2.5 hours Continental Tire race. This is usually my favourite race of the weekend because of the identifiable Porsches, M3s, Astons, Camaros and Mustangs etc. but Friday's race was spoiled for the fans, and I think the drivers too, by many lengthy caution flags. There was no visible momentum, strategies were blown out by the pace laps, so tires, fuel and ...
