Picked up the car at our friends, the Meadors. Hitting the road for Atlanta. Wow, it's been a whirlwind expedition! Feels like we've been gone for months. Can't believe how much we've seen and all the places that we've been in the last 26 days. I will certainly view so many of the places we've visited with a different set of eyes and opinions ...

Again, for some unknown reason, the temperature of the plane was so ridiculously cold that I could barely sleep with two blankets. He had trouble getting comfortable as well so both of us were pretty tired when we arrived this morning. Too bad we were so tired we couldn’t be happy about ...

... two of the more successful and sophisticated vineyards in northern Virginia, Sunset Hills winery and Breaux. We lunched at Sunset Hills on bread and cheese and wine. Sunset produces a Cabernet Franc with 16% alcohol (most wine is around 13%) that is a very, very big wine, and a very tasty Meritage that is considerably less bulky. We finished the day at Breaux, which had attracted a very large crowd. Great view of the vineyards from the terrace. We had Cash with us ...
