... I got leek soup, beef stew and ice cream. Gen had fried cheese, salmon and ice cream. It was great food, but this is definitely not a good city for eating on a budget. We met up with the SHAPE girls at the Belfort. We got in line to climb to the top of it. 366 stairs later, we finally got to the top. It was exhausting to say the least, it felt like my heart was going to beat out of my chest. ... stone streets (note, 4 wheeler suitcases don't handle it well, and sneakers are the smartest footwear!!) Went up the 366 steps to the top of the belfry, rode horse and cart through the town and explored by foot...and did the canal ride - highlight!! Tonnes of great little shops and cafes and plenty of places to try real Belgian waffles and chocolate :-) Walked the streets all lit up, its a really beautiful place... ...
