... met back at the apartment to swap stories.
The following day we were preparing to leave and our train took us back to Brussels and we changed to the Eurostar back to St Pancras in London. We then said goodbye to Mike and Jen and changed to the tube to return to Heathrow. Our BA flight took us to Hong Kong for 2 nights before returning home.
What a wonderful experience and fabulous trip !!
Thanks for listening,

The hotel is in a good location and our room is great. For those who haven't seen the movie or don't know anything about Bruges, it is an 11th century Gothic city with canals and full of tourist attractions. Also it doesn't cover a large area so can be covered on foot. No hop on hop off bus here. We walk into the central part for dinner. We find a nice spot giving us a great view of Markt Square. There is much activity including the carilloneur playing music in the Belfry. ...

As we leave France, here are some thoughts.... 1. All the meals were really delicious: steak, roasted duck and chicken, and fries and salad with every meal. 2. Bakeries are the tasty and affordable way to eat (croque Monsieur, croissant, pain au chocolat, sandwiches, pizza, macarons)...like a candy store but better. 3. Food we must try next time: crepes, hot dogs a la France ( in baguettes, covered in cheese), charcuterie 4. Excellent metro system ...

... in. This shop was not as fancy as the other shops and felt more like a real family run business. The chocolates looked delicious and we decided to buy from there. We could have picked up a mixed box that was already prepared, but the owner said he was happy to make us a box without coconut ones (since we indicated we didn’t like those) if we wanted to come back tomorrow. We thought that was great and continued on. The windmills were neat and it was nice to be able to get ...

... State and a local Belgian man named Jan. Jan has been coming to the bar for 40 years. He showed us a very old book written about the bar; it was kept outside, so it wasn't in great shape. We sampled the big 4 of Belgium: beer, chocolate, waffles, and fries. The only real disappointment was the fries. They weren't anything you couldn't get at the Bantam Chef. We decided that Brugge is our favorite stop so far, but we are really looking forward to ...
