Going Bananas

... with by Stacy, an old friend from Charleston and her roomate Meg(?). Any and Becky had to work early so we said our goodbyes and the girls took on the town. Good times and hilarity insued as it does during a night on the town with Stacy, and despite exceeding my budget, (which I keep close track of mentally) the Atalnta stop was much needed and well worth it.

Atlanta, GA

Birthplace of Martin Luther King, unofficial capital of the south, host of the 1996 Olympics, and home to the world's largest aquarium and busiest airport. We'd need much more than the short time we had to get around everything here, but did manage to see a couple of gems. Most of the first day was spent wondering around the aquarium, a very impressive building, with a underwater tunnel that allows you to stare in awe as whale ...

Off to the Airport

... sink in the lavotory- weird!
Also converted $1060 USD to 700 Euros.
Flight served a pasta meal with bread and spreadable cheese, also a brownie and a sealed cup of water. 3 loud French men in front of me made it hard to sleep and the movie player on the plan broke down. The plane had 2 seats on each side and a row of 3 in the middle. Almost a 9 hour flight!

Atlanta Trip

In Atlanta for a week during my 2006 vacation. Tried going to 6 Flags - Georgia, but someone didn't check the Park schedule. they were closed that day (lol)... I did get to visit the Atlanta Aquarium, CNN Towers and the Olympic Park built when Atlanta hosted the Olympic Games. All in all, it was a good visit

Atlanta

Atlanta was only a destination because it was the closest international airport to Charleston, so I didn't spend too long here. I spent the morning downtown, but apart from a Coca Cola museum I didn't see much more of interest. And Coca Cola isn't interesting, so I sat in a square in the sun, wasting time until the flight. I would have liked to have gone up to see the Atlanta Braves, but with no game on I missed out, sadly. Other than that, the rest of my time was spent in the Airport...

I've got an Idea - Let's drive to ALL 50 STATES

... Rather than just drive around with no itinerary, I believe we can have a much greater experience if we research and have a plan. So, research has begun. We need a name and a concept. We still want to "eat pie," but the name "The Pie Trip" is out. All of a sudden, the idea hit me. Let's not just drive ...
