... sight. There were heaps of tourists up there as there as quite a few cruise boats in, and each vantage point was crammed with people. Some were climbing out onto roof tops and standing on the edge of buildings with huge drops below them. It was the most ridiculous thing I've seen. Makes the Sunset strip at Uluru look tame in comparison.

Once all aboard we headed off to a winery for a Greek lunch and dancing. Lunch was great with some predictable Greek salads, but also some local foods such as a bean dish similar to humus that is grown & made locally and tomato fritters made from local tomatoes and of course local wine. ... and we part our ways and head into the darkness. Steep stairs heading down a path we waddle in like oldies and I nearly dive head first into the waters of Santorini as I miss a step. It's so exciting ! We meet Calypso ( yes that's her name) our crazy host and she offers us both a drink. Daniel jumps on the offer and grabs a gin and tonic, but as I have indigestion to rival Krakatoa, I pass on the offer but grab some unknown tablet offered up that cures ...
... everyone willing to stay outside, and relocated others to more sheltered eating areas. At one point the parchment paper our lamb was cooked in went flying when the waitress collected our plates. She ended up passing along the leftover morsels to a local dog who patiently waited at the restaurant entrance.
We downed the rest of our wine to evade the cold winds and made for the shops in which Jen struck gold so far as Christmas gifts ...

We caught a ferry from Santorini to the island of Ios. I liked to call it the Bali of Europe. Party zone, plenty of sun and a **** tonne of Australians everywhere. The 2 nights we spent here we just partied and sat by the pool.. There is only one place to stay ...
