They discovered the tower was unstable a few years ago, and in the process of digging into the foundations to strengthen the tower, the foundations of a previous Norman Minster were discovered, and below that a Roman Principia (garrison). They've built a ramp down into the undercroft and you can see all the things they found.

After some play time & dinner, Jon took mr to Chrissie & Brian's house because I had forgot to give them a picture of the kids I had brought over. The kids then were changed once they got home & the kids went to bed. Soon we followed though we still needed to pack for our trip to the Lake District the next day.
... taking a tour and seeing all the animals we moved on to some of the other activities that the farm had. The farm had some plastic tractors the kids could ride though the area was small and there were some other kids there so that didn't last long. The kids played on a plastic slide structure for quite a while before Jon went and retrieved the lunch box.

Mr was also acting up & ended up needing to be put in the carrier. We were able to see some Spitfires, a Dakota, a Hurricane & a couple of training planes called Chipmunks. ... them & to see their place again. It was the first time for the children to visit them & the 2nd time for Jon & I. Chrissie & Brian have two cats & two chickens. Elsa, their Siamese cat, & mr were great friends. Elsa was very patient with mr which caused him to want to pet her a lot which was cute. The chickens were Charlie & Cluck. Charlie was the one we saw the most. Cluck was mostly just hanging out in their nest.
